March 701

The March 701, designed by Robin Herd, was March Engineering’s first Formula 1 car and made its debut in the 1970 season. It featured an aluminium monocoque chassis and was powered by the Ford Cosworth DFV engine. Despite its simplicity, the 701 had a successful debut, driven by notable drivers like Jackie Stewart and Ronnie Peterson. Stewart’s performances, including a win at the Spanish Grand Prix, kept him in championship contention. The car’s reliability and versatility contributed to March’s strong showing.

Chassis 701/8, driven by Ronnie Peterson, made its first appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1970. The car has become highly collectible and has participated in several Monaco Historic GPs. This is a unique chance to acquire an early 1970s Formula 1 car, famously driven by Swedish racing legend Ronnie Peterson.
